Things to do in York
An historically rich city, York is the perfect place to study, with two universities and two colleges there is a vibrant mix of activities for students to undertake, such as cinemas, music venues, clubs, shopping, museums, cafes and restaurants.
York benefits from being a relatively small city which has very good cycle routes, pathways and public transport but if you want to visit neighbouring cities there are also excellent rail links, with London just two hours away and Edinburgh just over two hours.
International travel is available from Leeds Bradford Airport, an hour away, or Manchester Airport.
By studying in York you are choosing to be in one of the most sought after places to live in the North of England. Being situated in the heart of Yorkshire, it allows you to expand your horizons and explore other sites, such as the stunning National Parks and the coast as well as other great towns and cities nearby.
Check out blogs written by our Blog Squad and browse some very useful tourism and review sites to get the local knowledge you’ll need to get off the beaten track and discover something new while you’re here.
